Meet Danielle
Danielle Esposito, LCSW has been practicing social work since 2009. She has spent 15 years in schools as a school social worker, Lead Social Worker and recently as the Senior Director of Social Work & Wellness at East Harlem Scholars Academies, where she worked over the past decade building, shaping and growing the social work program and supporting the social workers across the network.
During her time in schools Danielle has worked with elementary, middle and high school students and is known for creative ways of engaging families directly in the work.
Danielle has experience with group, individual, family and couples counseling. She specializes in trauma-focused therapy, child development, parenting and co-parenting support and transitions associated with significant milestones.
Danielle is a warm, compassionate social worker who prioritizes building a collaborative and supportive relationship with both her clients and her supervisees. She believes a strong connection and relationship fosters growth, empowerment and positive change. Danielle listens attentively and approaches her work with an open mind, seeking to gain a deeper understanding of experiences and providing insights. Danielle is committed to providing anti-racist, identity-affirming support.
Danielle recognizes that each person has a unique history and she works closely with clients and supervisees to define their goals, expand their perspectives and enhance their lives and practice. Therapy and supervision are ongoing practices and she places significance on acknowledging progress and celebrating the hard work.
Danielle has been a supervisor for 10 years and an adjunct instructor at NYU Silver School of Social Work for 4 years. She loves teaching and supporting social workers as they engage and practice in this wonderful, difficult and rewarding profession.
“Danielle has been my supervisor over the past year, and not only is she a fantastic clinician with a wealth of knowledge and experience, but her approach and guidance has made the supervision process one that is effective and enjoyable. Her warm but tough approach has helped me become more comfortable in my role, refine my clinical skills, and become a well rounded clinician for my students and families. I always look forward to supervision with her!”
